Spalding’s park and pool are the heart of our community—where families gather, kids learn to swim, and memories are made. With your help, we can give this space the updates it needs to serve future generations.
We’re launching a bold effort, in three phases, to revitalize the Spalding Park & Pool into a safe, inclusive, and vibrant destination for the next generation—and we need your support to make it happen!
We’ve raised $13,374.44 of our $600,000 goal to build Spalding’s new pool and park!

Retrofitted Canopies on Existing Shelters – More shade and comfort for family picnics and gatherings.
Large Pavilion – A spacious venue closer to the fairgrounds.

Improved Gravel Drive – Smoother, safer entry and exit for all visitors.
Renovated Concessions & Restrooms – Fresh, modern facilities that make every visit more enjoyable.
Relocated Play Structure – Thoughtfully placed for better flow and safer play.
Enhanced Camper & RV Sites – Upgraded features to welcome more families and visitors to stay longer.
Phase 5
Enhanced Military Memorial – A respectful, lasting tribute to honor those who have served.
Paved Multi-Use Trail Extension – More space for walking, biking, and connecting across the park.
Expanded Batting Cages – Extra capacity for youth, school, and league teams to practice and grow.
Ornamental Fencing – Attractive finishing touches that improve safety and showcase the park’s beauty.

- Shared-Use Plaza with Seating & Decorative Lighting – A beautiful central space for families and friends to gather, relax, and enjoy events.

FAQ
What is the total cost of the project?
The full cost is still being finalized as we await the complete concept plan. However, we estimate Phase 1 will require at least $600,000 to qualify for a matching grant, with additional funds needed for Phases 2 and 3.
How can I donate?
You can donate online (coming soon), by check (payable to Village of Spalding), or by contacting a Spalding Economic Development or Village of Spalding board member directly. All donations are tax-deductible.
Where will the money go?
Every dollar raised goes directly toward construction, materials, and improvements within the 3-phase project. Funds will not be used for salaries or overhead.
Will this project be completed in stages?
Yes, the Spalding Park and Pool Project will be completed in three phases:
Phase 1 (Begins 2026): New pool liner, pumphouse, bathhouse with showers/lockers, concession stand, eating area, sunbathing/lounging area, kiddie pool, and new fencing.
Phase 2: New playground and surfacing, updated tennis and basketball courts, added pickleball courts, enhanced seating, new ballfield concession stand, art, and landscaping.
Phase 3: Trail system connecting the park, pool, and fairgrounds; improved RV camping; signage and wayfinding; painted Air Force plane; flags and plaques for veterans monuments.
Each phase will begin after the previous one is complete, depending on fundraising progress and project readiness.
Is this project led by the city or volunteers?
This is a collaboration between the Village of Spalding and the Spalding Economic Development group, with support from local volunteers. Together, we’re working to create a space the entire community can be proud of.
Can I dedicate my donation in memory of someone?
Yes! We offer dedication opportunities and naming rights for benches, landscaping features, and more. Contact us to learn about options.
When will construction begin?
As soon as we meet our Phase 1 fundraising goal, we’ll begin finalizing timelines and contractors. We’re hopeful to begin in 2026.
